Lavender blooms are not uncommon, but they are short-lived and occur in early to mid-July.
Near the Dnipro city, lavender blooms can be seen in several places, and one of them is Sokolovo eco-farm, which not only produces organic vegetables and accepts guests for country vacations, but also grows lavender.
The Lavender Festival in 2024 was held July 13-14
As announced by the organizers, the following events were to take place at Lavender Fest at Sokolovo Eco-Farm:
- photo shoot in a lavender field;
- lavender tea with lavender honey;
- master class on lavender planting;
- gifts from the organic farm;
- host and DJ;
- lake with spring water;
- mini-zoo;
- children’s playground;
- beach volleyball;
- professional trampoline
- unique gym.
Just at that time there was an abnormal heat wave in Ukraine (thermometer columns showed +37), because of the small number of visitors the festival had to be canceled and therefore we did not get any of the above described:)
And we explored the lavender field on our own and admired its beauty.
What can be said about lavender blooming in Dnipro?
Although the lavender field is not so large and the flowers grow at such a distance from each other that it does not give the impression of a “lavender carpet”. However, if you walk among the bushes you can smell the pleasant and delicate odor of lavender.
Among other things, we were treated to lavender tea with lavender honey. It was delicious and it seemed that in the hot weather such tea did not heat up, but on the contrary brought lightness and freshness.
Benches made of pallets were set up in the middle of the field – you can take a photo here. There was also a beautiful sofa with delicate purple fabrics. Here is another location for photos.
That’s how the lavender fest near the Dnieper passed, and next time I would like to have a more intense program. Although, there is an opinion that the less people – the better:)
