Beware of cats in Dnipro city

Road sign “cats” in Dnipro city appeared in 2024. This Unusual sign with the image of a black running cat was noticed on Volodymyr Pilishchenko Street in Amur-Nizhnedneprovskyi district in Lomovskyi residential area (formerly Frunzenskyi).

This sign was installed by local residents who are not indifferent to the fate of cats, unfortunately, dying under the wheels of cars.

The whole point is that this area is a solid private sector, next to the forest belt and it is on Pilishchenko Street with one-way traffic you can go to Peredovaya Street from the residential area, saving a lot of time and nerves than if you go from Donetsk highway. That is why there are always a lot of cars here, and many drivers do not adhere to the speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour, as prescribed by the already existing sign here.

Locals say that the number of hit-and-runs has actually decreased and that the beware of cats sign, although not official, is still working. Drivers are slowing down, if only to see what the sign is all about.

Careful cats sign – a landmark of Dnipro city

Let’s hope that the sign really works and saves the lives of cats and other animals and it will not be taken down by the city authorities.

Maybe it will also become a landmark of the city of Dnipro.

You can see the sign at Volodymyr Pilishchenko Street near the house #285.

By the way, Volodymyr Pilishchenko Street used to be called Taganrogskaya Street and was renamed as part of the decommunization of Ukraine.
